Every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, SoulPancake and Kid President want 2 million people to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.
Earlier this year, I had the honor to introduce Mr. Brad Montague on stage at an event in our district. He is the creator of the Kid President campaign that launched in 2012. Mr. Montague came about the idea of Kid President when he launched a summer camp for kids who wanted to change the world. What started to be the creation of empowering videos for fun lead to major opportunities for Kid President such as visiting the White House and meeting Beyonce! Kid President is now a household name and I strongly recommend you watch some of his videos here.
We want the help of IA Weekly viewers in contributing pairs of socks during the month of Socktober. Click here to get involved!
